Will has amassed a diverse career spanning various facets of manufacturing and engineering, underscored by a commitment to excellence and leadership. His journey began at Alcast in 1994 where he honed his skills under the leadership of Mike Laukitis, working in the finishing room full-time during summers. Will concurrently pursued his education at ICC, earning an Associate Degree in Mechanical Design Technology from 1994 to 1996, before graduating from Bradley University in 1998 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Manufacturing Engineering.

Joining Caterpillar Inc. in 1998 marked a pivotal moment in Will’s career, where he dedicated 19 years to roles of increasing responsibility. Notably, he served primarily in Cat Diesel Engine Application Engineering for the Industrial Power Systems Division, eventually assuming the role of Americas Application Engineering Manager. Will’s tenure at Caterpillar included impactful contributions to customer-facing technical applications and installations, crucially positioning him as a leader within the industry.

Transitioning to a higher leadership role, Will became President and part-owner of Voss Pattern in Davenport, IA, from 2017 to 2023 culminating a successful buyout by Ligon in 2021. His strategic vision and operational acumen led to expanded capabilities, increased profitability, and the establishment of an Iowa Department of Labor Apprenticeship.

Since October 2023, Will has served as Vice President of Sand Operations at Aluminum Castings Company in Galesburg, IL. In this role, he oversees all manufacturing activities and operations, from daily production, to quoting, to new product launches, and process development. His leadership ensures optimal utilization of resources, fostering growth and operational excellence.

Beyond his professional achievements, Will draws inspiration from a family legacy rooted in machining and manufacturing. Reaching back to his grandfather, a journeyman tool and die maker, onto being raised amidst the tools of his father’s machine shop. He gained hands-on experience from a young age and a background that instilled a deep appreciation for production and craftsmanship.

Will thrives on the dynamic challenges of his roles, relishing the opportunity to tackle new projects and drive organizational success. His dedication to teamwork and willingness to share his expertise underscores his commitment to fostering a collaborative work environment.
