EHS Supervisor

Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and proactive EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) Supervisor to lead our safety initiatives and ensure compliance across manufacturing operations. In this vital role, you will champion a culture of safety, oversee EHS programs, and promote occupational health standards to protect our team members and the environment. Your expertise will drive continuous improvement in safety performance, foster training and development, and uphold regulatory compliance with agencies such as OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and EPA (Environmental Protection Agency). Responsibilities

Safety Leadership & Compliance

  • Supervise and enforce safety policies and procedures in a high-hazard foundry environment
  • Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments across all production areas
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable state and local safety regulations
  • Assist with OSHA recordkeeping, including OSHA 300/300A/301 logs

Incident Management & Workers’ Compensation

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for workers’ compensation claims
  • Manage injury reporting, documentation, and timely submission of workers’ compensation claims
  • Coordinate medical treatment, return-to-work, and modified duty programs
  • Investigate workplace injuries, near misses, and unsafe conditions to identify root causes
  • Track claims trends and work with management to reduce injury frequency and severity

Training & Employee Engagement

  • Lead safety orientations for new hires and contractors
  • Conduct safety training on PPE, lockout/tagout, confined space, hot work, hazard communication, and machine guarding
  • Coach supervisors and employees on safe work practices and behavioral safety
  • Facilitate safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety committee activities

Program Administration

  • Maintain accurate safety and workers’ compensation records and reports
  • Support PPE selection, issuance, and compliance audits
  • Assist with emergency response planning, drills, and incident preparedness
  • Recommend corrective actions and support implementation to reduce workplace risk

Collaboration & Communication

  • Partner with production, maintenance, HR, and management teams to address safety concerns
  • Communicate safety expectations clearly and consistently to all employees
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to safety performance

Qualifications & Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree in safety, industrial hygiene, or related field preferred
  • 3–5 years of safety experience in a foundry, metal casting, or heavy manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and workers’ compensation processes
  • Experience conducting incident investigations and managing injury claims
  • Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • OSHA 30 certification
  • Experience managing return-to-work or light-duty programs
  • Familiarity with industrial hygiene hazards (heat stress, silica, noise, dust)

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Ability to spend extended time on the shop floor
  • Ability to work in hot, dusty, and noisy environments
  • Ability to wear required PPE, including respirators, face shields, and heat-resistant gear

Pay: $70,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
