2nd Shift Foundry Quality Technician

Job Description

2nd Shift: 5pm – 5am

We are looking for a responsible Quality Inspector to check the quality of all incoming and outgoing material and products. You will be a firm advocate of quality in our business. The ideal candidate will possess a trained eye for detail and will be reliable and committed. Knowledge and comprehension of quality standards is essential. The goal is to ensure that our products are made of flawless materials with well-functioning equipment that meet our customer’s high standards.

Responsibilities

  • Read blueprints and instructions to comprehend the quality expectations for the product and supplies
  • Approve or reject raw materials with respect to quality standards and record supplier performance
  • Select output samples and check them using appropriate methods (measuring dimensions, testing functionality, comparing to specifications etc.)
  • Use measuring tools such as calipers and various gauges to ensure correct dimensions
  • Using gadgets such as micrometer screw gauges to measure products
  • Maintain records of testing, information and various metrics such as number of defective products per day etc.
  • Monitor the use of equipment to ensure it is safe and well-maintained and discard any that doesn’t meet requirements
  • Prepare and submit reports to the quality manager

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as quality inspector or relevant role
  • 1-5 years of experience as a quality inspector
  • A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach
  • Responsible and trustworthy
  • Familiarity with quality measurement tools.
  • Knowledge of quality control standards and testing methodologies
  • Working knowledge of MS Office
  • High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience

  • Proven experience working within a manufacturing environment focused on quality control or quality assurance roles.
  • Hands-on experience operating precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), vision inspection systems, and other measurement tools.
  • Familiarity with industry standards including ISO 9001 (quality management) and FDA regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data effectively using various analysis skills to identify trends or issues impacting product quality.
  • Prior involvement in conducting or supporting quality audits within regulated environments is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of calibration procedures for precision instruments and experience maintaining calibration records is preferred.

Pay: $21.00 – $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
